Why five-toe socks and why made in Japan?

Five-toe socks have been the product that has taken us the longest to develop at OTSO. Their manufacturing is not simple: each pair requires, on average, five times more time than “normal” socks.
But it is also the product we are most proud of.

They are like a glove and, once you get used to them, it is very difficult to go back to using other socks. They are very comfortable, just as light and breathable as all OTSO socks and, in general, with the same technical features.
Also, by separating all the toes, they prevent blisters from forming between them, something quite common in long-distance races.

And why are they made in Japan?
It is no coincidence that in the number one country in the world for sports activity per capita, many athletes use five-toe socks. And, of course, the best machines to make them are there.
Since at OTSO we always seek the highest quality, it was not difficult to make the decision.

For us, it has been the most important launch of 2025.
